Orders from Star Fleet Command...

by Fleet Admiral E. Fortin, 2 days ago

*** Major Fleet Action ***
*** Alert Condition Red ***

Gentlemen, we have received orders from Star Fleet Command to engage the Klingons and repel them from Star Base 24. We must gather all hands. We will meet at Star Base 1 in the Sol System on Saturday Stardate 0213.09 at 2000 hrs. Information can be found in Tactical also there is a sign up sheet so we can tally the numbers. I would like to have 20 to 30 vessels in attendance. This is our first amongst many fleet actions we will have. We will try to keep it as organized as possible. Vent Fleet Channel will be the Quarterdeck. See you onboard...

By direction of Star Fleet Command,
Fleet Admiral Fortin
Commander 7th Fleet

Did you know? Away Team Controls

by Deputy Commander Turner, 4 days ago

AWAY TEAM CONTROLS
Control the Actions of your Away Team

Mouse Over the buttons to the left of your Away Team Members to
see the Individual Actions you can control. You can make them
Aggressive or Passive or Follow Your Actions. You can create
individual Waypoints to set guards or position officers within
a certain area. The Control Bar across the top of the Away Team
sets Group Actions.

PAUSE THE ZONE BUTTON
Pause the Zone for 45 seconds.

This is a great tool. Before a battle begins hit pause. You can
issue orders to your BO's, change weapons, set waypoints etc.
You can do this pretty often during a battle.

ASK 1 TO B 1

by Commodore Van Wormer, 9 days ago

For our members who are not in the Head Start, when you get in game, after the tutorial, you can join the 7th Fleet in-game. You WANT to do this! To join, find one of the Flag Officers in Vent, and request to join the fleet. You will need to have your NAME@HANDLE info ready so the invite can be sent.

Once you are in the in-game Fleet, I will take care of all in-game rank assignments based on your fleet rank. Be aware that the game doesn't support any Marine ranks, so you'll get the equal fleet rank. The game does not support the LTJG, or 1LT rank, so you won't see a change from ENSIGN until you are promoted within the fleet to LT or Captain (Marines).

As a reminder, you can group with ANY Task Force, but you do agree to accept the authority of the TF CO or XO in the channel. All hands are reminded to keep the Quarterdeck (Lobby) of Vent clear. If you are in-game, move to a TF channel!

TASK FORCES

by Commodore Van Wormer, 16 days ago

Going forward we will change how TFs work based on what we've learned.

1. TF COs and XO will be assigned for each TF.

2. All other 7th Fleet members are "unassigned".

3. TF CO/XO will conduct in-game ops in their channel. Any member can group with any TF, but accepts the mission and places themselves under the command of the CO/XO in channel.

4. Any member may suggest a mission, but the CO/XO of the TF is in tactical command of the mission.

This plan allows members to group with any other members that are online, and will allow many other people to play together. TF CO/XOs are our in-game leaders, and the "face" of the Lucky 7th when the flag staff isn't in-game.

If you are a TF commander and have not selected an XO, please do so and notify the ASAP!

Chain of Command / Promotions

by Commodore Van Wormer, 20 days ago

As we have shifted from the pre-game role-play phase of 7th Fleet to open beta and game launch in less than 10 days, I 'd like everyone to understand the chain of command and promotions.

In-game Chain of Command (bottom to top)
- Senior officer in game or channel
- Task Force Executive Officer
- Task Force Commander
- Captain Mercer (Operations Officer)
-Flag Officers

Promotions - How do you get promoted?
- In game rank doesn't count.
- Be active in the 7th Fleet.
- Be in game regularly.
- Volunteer for duties within the Fleet.
- Promotion to the more senior grades is based on needs of the fleet.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact your TF commander or myself.

Commodore
Chief of Staff
